Interest Groups - Join us for the 2024 - 2025 year
Interest groups are a great way to meet new friends and have lots of fun. Current year dues must be paid to participate. Membership is from September 1st - August 31st. Contact the Interest Group chairperson for more information about any of these groups or email interestgroups@nftrl.org . Chairpersons are listed under their respective groups. Sign up to join as many Interest Groups as you like at any membership meeting. Most groups encourage a donation that goes toward creating a basket for the annual fund raiser.

NFTRL Proposed Hiking Trails for 2024/2025………..(subject to change) 9/19/24, Thursday - Busiek Red + Yellow Trail, Local, 3+ mile loop, east side of Hwy 65, Alltrails rating is easy to moderate 10/15/24, Tuesday - Pilot Knob, Local, AllTrails Rating is moderate, 6.6 mi out and back (we will not hike the entire 6.6), off Hwy 39 near Golden and Shell Knob, MO 11/21/24 Thursday - Hennings Wildlife Refuge/Homestead Loop, Local, AllTrails Rating is moderate, 5.5 mile loop, trailhead off of hwy 376, at overlook. 12/17/24, Tuesday - Lakeside Forest Wilderness Bluff, Bent Tree and Ridgetop + Stonewall Trail, Local, Alltrails rating is moderate, approx 2.9 mile loop, stairs. 1/16/25, Thursday – Buffalo River Trail: Steel Creek Campground to Villines Homestead, Alltrails Rating – moderate, 4+ mile out and back, near Ponca, AR, requires one hour drive from state line on Hwy 65 2/18/25, Tuesday – Sac River Trail in Ritter Springs Park, Springfield, MO, AllTrails Rating is moderate, 5.3 mile loop, trail head is about 4 miles NE of Spfd airport, northwest side of Spfd. 3/20/25, Thursday –– Tyler Bend Spring Hollow/Buck Ridge Loop Trail, near St Joe, AR, 1 hr drive from state line at hwy 65, 2.5 – 3.5 mi loop, AllTrails rating is moderate 4/15/25, Tuesday – Round Top Mountain Trail, near Jasper, AR. AllTrails Rating Moderate, Approx 3.5 mile loop. Requires about an hour drive from state line at hwy 65. This is a beautiful hike! 5/15/25, Thursday – White River Valley Table Rock State Park Green + Orange Loops plus connecting trails, Local, AllTrails rating is moderate, approx 4 miles |
